Codes and Conventions

Parody:
This is when something is recreated to be made fun of. For example, in Walliams and Friend, David Walliams and other comedians do a running bit where they recreate the popular Jeremy Kyle Show to make fun of the show's format.



Transgressive humour:
This is when rude and inappropriate humour is used, like this example from Walliams and Friend, which is full of sexual innuendos:
  
Catchphrase and repetition:
When a character has a phrase that is used often in a show and is synonymous with that character. in this clip, this character's catchphrase is constantly repeated so it's the main focus of the sketch:
